Welcome from the Governors

The Governors of Calder Learning Trust welcome you to their part in the website. You will be able to find out who we are and, to some extent, what we try to do. We are all volunteers who give up our time to govern the school to our best abilities. All of us have excellent expertise in many areas, not just within the Educational Field but also in areas such as management, finance, marketing, the law, parenting and many, many more.
We would like to tell you:

How to become a school governor
We are committed to raising educational standards in the classroom, and to increasing the role of parents and the local community. Volunteers are needed to become Governors to help all our children reach their full potential.

You don't need to be an expert in educational issues to become a school governor. The most important contributions you can offer are time and enthusiasm. As a school governor, you will have the opportunity to contribute ideas and influence decisions. You will be given training and support to help you in your role.

We are particularly interested in increasing the number of black and minority ethnic governors so that pupils from black and minority ethnic backgrounds have their values and beliefs represented at an influential level.
